Beach Street USA
As soon we moved to Virginia Beach we decided that Beach Street USA was a pretty cool place! There is always something fun going on there. This weekend it is the neptune festival and we had to go down and check it out. There was great food, lots of fun shops, an art festival and of course the sand sculpting contest. There are world renowned sculptors that come to this and show off their work. We (my too kind and loving wife, my daughter, and friend) all made it down town. From about 31st street to the end of the boardwalk there was something going on. Walking around all of these art booths made me nervous with a 4 year old and a 3 year old! They wants to touch and try something at every stop. Naturally that made me apprehensive when everything was made of glass... But we did stop by and enjoy the art! I did my best to keep them from breaking everything and we saw some pretty cool stuff.
Here are a few photos I snapped of Kennedy while I was walking around with her. She REALLY enjoyed all of the "crafts." She liked all of them and ended up choosing to take home with her a mermaid necklace because that happens to be her obsession right now.
You'll notice that one of the picture she is examining a chair. She saw it and said "Dad, I really like that chair!" To which I smiled. She handled the beads and said "I really, really want to sit in that chair dad." I don't think you're supposed to sit in that chair but maybe that is just me...
So along Beach Street USA there are several parks or playgrounds along the walking path so we took a stop and played at one.
The last photo I want to share is of a park at the very end of Beach Street USA. I guess it is the beginning since it is close to first street. But none the less it is a pretty cool park and as I was out one night I snapped this picture...
