The smallest state in the US has a lot of things to see!
For a while now I've known that I would be making a trip to Newport RI for a United States Navy training. The purpose of the trip was NOT photography but to be trained to be a US Naval Officer. But none the less I decided that I better take my camera and use seize the available moments I had to see the cities and visit what I can. Plus taking photos is just alot of fun!
One of my first stops when I flew in was to stop at the capitol building. It was an amazing building and much larger than I had thought. Funny thing was that there was a bride getting pictures there with her groom and bridesmaids. Then we I kept wandering the city they seemed to follow me.
Since I was on my way to Newport RI. I had to drive through Jamestown. I stopped at the lighthouse and saw they really cool looking stairs that were all broken down. I thought they looked cool with the rock next to it and the ocean behind it. It was a really overcast day with no color in the sky. It made the pictures less than spectacular. But I only had a few hours here and so I wasn't going to miss an opportunity to take some photos.
The majority of my time for my Naval Officer Training will be done in Newport RI. I daresay that this is the most beautiful location I've seen yet in Rhode Island. I love all of the bridges that connect all of the small islands and peninsulas. They are fantastic to photograph and beautiful to sit down and watch the sunset or sunrise. Here are a few photos from the Naval Station Newport.
