The Lavender Field
In the Fuji five lakes region of Japan rests a beautiful lake. During the summer months the lavender festival comes alive and people come from all over to catch a glimpse of the beautiful flowers with the backdrop of Mt. Fuji. When we were there one evening it was packed with admirers. But you can't beat the backdrop of Mt. Fuji with beautiful flowers in the foreground.

Beautiful Mt. Fuji
I have wanted to go to this location from the first day I arrived in Japan. I have thought about what the image was going to look like in my mind. I have planned it out for almost two years now. It took my one sunrise and one sunset to finally get the photo I had imagined in my mind. I'm happy with the image now. I had two goals in visiting Mt. Fuji. One to capture it on camera in an unforgettable image and secondly to scale to its summit. Both things were accomplished.

Explosion of Colors over Fuji
We had scaled to the summit and back of Mt. Fuji. We were exhausted and didn't want to do antying. We went out to dinner at a nearby restraunt. Then as the sun was setting I rushed over to the lakeside and set up my tripod. Little did I know that there was going to be an explosion of colors! WOW! It was incredible to see the oranges send flares into the sky. What a great way to end our Mt. Fuji Experience.

Mt. Fuji's Small Village
This is a quaint village just on the outskirts of Mt. Fuji. It is a great place to visit and to get into the culture of the surrounding area. We looked around the shops and huts for about an hour. I loved this little well and path with Mt. Fuji in the background.

Mt. Fuji
